Isaac H Sackett, son of Hon Jehial Sackett and Samantha Knapp, was born in Dutchess County, New York StateG, on 28 November 1810.1,2 He married about 1853, Anna Harding.3 She was born in IrelandG about 1823.2
Isaac was named in his mother Samantha's will made at StanfordG on 2 October 1844. He and his brother Asa were each to have half of the real estate, sharing equally the stock and farming utensils. Isaac was unmarried at that date and his share was subject to reversion to his brothers John and Asa and sister Samantha.4
In 1850 Isaac was living in Washington, Dutchess CountyG, in the household of his brother Artemus and sister-in-law Laura, and was recorded in the census as Isaac H Sackett, a farmer, aged 38 and born in New York.5
In 1865 he was living in Stanford, Dutchess CountyG, and was recorded as Isaac H Sackett, aged 54 and born in Dutchess County. Living with him were his wife Ann, 42, and their children, Georgiana, 11, Smith, 9, and Joseph, aged seven.6
No records for Isaac and Ann/Anna have been found after 1865, and it would appear likely that they died soon after that date. Their daughter Georgiana was living with a family in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in 1870, while their sons were brought up in the households of other family members, Smith with his uncle Artemus, and Joseph with his uncle Phineas.
