John Thompson Sackett

John Thompson Sackett, son of Hon Jehial Sackett and Semantha Knapp, was born on 27 November 1808.1 He died aged 73 in Amenia, Dutchess County, New York StateG, on 3 February 18821,2 and was buried at The Amenia Island CemeteryG.2 He married in about 1830, Maria L Guernsey.1 She was born on 18 March 1814.3 She died aged 89 in Dutchess CountyG on 8 April 1903 and was buried in the Amenia Island CemeteryG.3
     In 1850 John was living in Stanford, Dutchess CountyG, and was recorded in the census as John T Sackett, a farmer, aged 41 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Maria, 35, and their children, Guernsey, 17, and Lydia, aged 14. A young female and a young male, also in the household, were presumably a servant and a farm laborer.4
