Mary Serjeant Tomlin Sackett, daughter of Richard Sackett and Jane Kemp, was baptized at St Lawrence in ThanetG on 31 December 1820.1 She married at St Mary the Virgin, Ashford, KentG, on 18 July 1846, Edward Cock.2,3
In 1841 Mary was living at Middle Row, St Mary, Dover, KentG, in the household of her mother Jane, and was recorded in the census as Mary Sackett, aged 15 [age rounded down] and born in Kent.4
In 1851 she was living at 118 Snargate Street, St Mary, Dover, KentG, in the household of her husband Edward, 26, an accountant, and was recorded as Mary Sargent Cock, aged 29 and born in Ramsgate. Living with them were their daughters, Helen, 3, and Caroline, aged one. Living at the same address were her father Richard Sackett with her sister Sarah and nephew John (her brother Richard's son), and her sister Elizabeth and brother-in-law John James Joad.5
