John Ingersoll Day, son of John Day and Ann Cornelia Sackett, was born on 27 November 1838.1,2 He married on 7 February 1870, Mary Elizabeth Brown.1
     In 1850 John was living in Sheffield, Lorain County, OhioG, in the household of his parents John and Cornelia, and was recorded in the census as John Day, aged ten and born in Ohio.3
