Augustus Lysander Sackett, son of Moses Sackett and Cordelia Lavina Fox, was born in ConnecticutG on 6 March 18201,2 and baptized at the Congregational Church of Christ, Warren, Litchfield CountyG, on 8 June 1828.3 He died on 4 April 1893.1 He married on 18 January 1842, Miranda Carter.1
     In 1850 Augustus was living in Montgomery, Ashland County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as Augustus L Sackett, a sawyer, aged 30 and born in Connecticut. Living with him were his wife Miranda, 28, and their children, Elizabeth, 7, Clark, 5, Irving, 4, Charles, 2, and Janette, 2.4
     In 1860 Miranda was living in MontgomeryG and was listed as Maranda Sackett, aged 38. Living with her were her children, Elizabeth, 17, Clark, 15, Irvin, 13, Charles, 11, Janet, 11, and Victor, aged nine.5
     In 1870 she was living in Hayesville, Ashland CountyG, and was listed as Meranda Sackett, aged 47. Her daughter Janet, 21, was living with her.6
