Charles S Sackett, son of Zaven Mansfield Sackett and Mary Ann Palmer, was born in OhioG on 10 November 1859.1,2 He died aged 72 in Sharpsville, Mercer County, PennsylvaniaG, on 27 October 1932 and was buried at New Lyme, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 30 October 1932.4 He married at New LymeG on 15 March 1884, Clara E Knowles, daughter of Charles A Knowles and Caroline Hull.1,3 Clara was born in OhioG in May 1863.2
     In 1860 Charles was living in WayneG in the household of his parents Zaven and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Charles S Sacket, aged six months and born in Ohio.5
     Charles was named as a beneficiary in his grandfather Isaac Sackett's will made in WayneG on 28 September 1868. He was to inherit the estate after the death of Isaac's widow.
     In 1870 he was living in Wayne, OhioG, in the household of his parents Zaven and Mary, and was recorded as Charles S Sacket, aged ten.6
     In 1880 he was living in WayneG in the household of his father Zavan Sackett, and was recorded as Charles S Sackett, a farmer, aged 20 and born in Ohio.7
     In 1900 he was living in New Lyme, Ashtabula County, OhioG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 40. He owned his farm freehold. Living with him were his wife Clara, 37, and their adopted sons, Lyle, 15, and Neal, aged eight.8
     In 1910 he was living in New LymeG and was recorded as Charles S Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 50. He owned his home and farm freehold. Living with him were his wife Clara, 47, and their adopted sons, Lyle, 25, and Neal, 18.9
     In 1920 he was living at Morgan Sackett Road, New LymeG, and was recorded as Charles S Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 60. He owned his farm free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Clara, 57, and Clara's widowed mother Caroline Knowles, 83.10
     In 1930 he was living in Sharpsville, Mercer County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his son Lyle and daughter-in-law Rebecca, and was recorded as Charles S Sackett, retired, a widower, aged 70.11
