Elsie Sackett, daughter of Frederick Charles Sackett and Jessie Gray Cousland, was born in Tunbridge, KentG, on 3 November 1898.1,2 She died aged 75 in Pershore, WorcestershireG, on 27 March 1974.2,3 She married in Epsom, SurreyG, in 1928, Arthur Ross Slater, a teacher, son of Arthur John Slater and Janet Charlotte Emily Miller.4,5 Arthur was born in Wandsworth, LondonG, on 2 September 19026,7 and baptized at St Stephen, WandsworthG, on 27 September 1902.8 He died aged 78 in Pershore, WorcestershireG, on 16 February 1981.9,3
     In 1901 Elsie was living at High Brooms, Tunbridge Wells, KentG, in the household of her parents Frederick and Jessie, and was recorded in the census as Elsie Sackett, aged two and born in Ramsgate.10
     In 1911 she was living at Hillside, Wingham, KentG, in the household of her parents Frederick and Jessie, and was recorded as Elsie Sackett, aged twelve and born in Southborough.11
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Arthur and Elsie were living at Brickwall, Battle, SussexG. Arthur was a retired schoolmaster and an air raid warden.12
     Elsie left a will which was proved in LondonG on 17 May 1974. Her estate was valued at £11,000.13
     Arthur left a will which was proved in LondonG on 7 May 1981. His estate was valued at £133,000.14
