Clara Mary Ann Sackett, daughter of John Richard Sackett and Catherine Hewitt, was born in Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, on 27 March 18471,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch, MiddlesexG, on 30 September 1849.2 She married at St John's Church, ShoreditchG, on 22 December 1866, Edward George Hallam.3,4
     In 1851 Clara was living at 14 Ashford Street, Shoreditch, LondonG, and was recorded in the census as Clara Sackett, aged four, born in Shoreditch, the daughter of John Sackett.5
     In 1861 she was living at 10 Herbert Street, Tower Hamlets, ShoreditchG, and was recorded as Clara Sackett, a servant, aged 14, born in Shoreditch, the daughter of John Richard Sackett.6
     In 1871 she was living at 9 & 10 Herbert Street, St Leonards, ShoreditchG, in the household of her parents John and Catherine, and was recorded as Clara H Sackett [actually Hallam], a machinist, aged 24 and born in Middlesex. Living with her were her husband Edward Hallam, a clicker, aged 31 and born in Middlesex, and their children Edward W, aged three, and Kate C, aged one, both also born in Middlesex.7
