Thomas Ernest Sackett, son of Herbert Sackett and Mary Jane Ashby, was born in Canterbury, KentG, on 16 September 19121 and baptized at St Mildred, CanterburyG, on 1 December 1912.2 He died aged 81 in Canterbury, KentG, in November 1993.3 He married first in Bridge, KentG, in 1938, Mary A Harrison.4,5 He married second in CanterburyG in 1950, Barbara Marjorie Andrews.6,7 Barbara died in KentG on 20 September 2012.8
     In 1921 Thomas was living at 52 Wincheap Street, CanterburyG, in the household of his parents Herbert and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Thomas Ernest Sackett, aged nine and born in Canterbury.9
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Thomas was living at 12 Tanford Lane, Bridge and Blean Rural District, KentG, and was a chauffeur.10
