Walter Sackett, a grocer, son of George File Sackett and Arabella Leans, was born in Cootamundra, New South Wales, AustraliaG, in 1889.1,2 He died in Young, New South WalesG, in 1961.3 He married in Newtown, New South WalesG, in 1922, Grace Myrtle Croxon, daughter of Charles Croxon and Alice ___.4 Grace died in Ryde, New South WalesG, in 1945.5
     Walter advertised in 1914 to buy a grocery business. His address was then 819 Cleveland Street, Redfern, New South WalesG.6
     Walter served in the First World War. He enlisted on 1 July 1916 in the 56th Battalion, Australian Imperial Force, and fought on the Western Front in France.2 He returned to Australia after the war, leaving England on the Orita on 23 June 1919.7
