Alexander Sackett, farmer, son of Cyrus Sackett and Nancy Anne Stapleton, was born in Sugar Creek Township, Greene County, OhioG, on 3 April 1808.1,2 He died aged 85 in Sugar Creek TownshipG on 10 April 1893.3,2 He married first in about 1834, Isabell Preston.3,4 Isabell died in about 1848.3 He married second at Greene CountyG on 14 July 1849, Mary Brewster.3,5
In 1850 Alexander was living in Sugar Creek, Greene County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as Alex Sackett, a farmer, aged 42 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his second wife, Mary, aged 35, and his children by his first marriage, Martha, 15, Sarah, 14, Cyrus, Mary, 10, Emily, 9 [sic: 6], and Enor [Aner], aged eight. Alexander's widowed mother Nancy, aged 84, was living next door.6
In 1860 he was living in Sugar CreekG and was recorded as Alexander Sackett, a farmer, aged 52 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his second wife, Mary, 45, Alexander's children by his first marriage, Cyrus, 22, and Emily, 16, and Alexander and Mary's children, Lois, 9, Samuel, 6, and Alexander, aged three months.7
