Martha A "Patty" Sackett, daughter of Isaac Sackett and Polly Hammond, was born in Colchester, Chittenden County, VermontG, on 7 November 1806.1,2 She died aged 46 in Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York StateG, on 10 December 18521 and was buried at South Plattsburgh CemeteryG.4 She married in Burlington, Chittenden CountyG, on 14 February 1822, Levi Martin, son of Isaac Martin and Sabra Harrington.1,3 Levi was born in South Hero, Grand Isle County, VermontG, on 26 March 1800.4 He died aged 91 in PlattsburghG on 4 July 1891 and was buried at South Plattsburgh CemeteryG.4
In 1850 Martha was living in Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York StateG, in the household of her husband Levi, 50, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Martha Martin, aged 43 and born in Vermont. Living with them were their children, William, 19, Warren, 16, Morton, 14, Jane, 13, and Phebe, aged eight.5
Martha was named as a beneficiary in her father's will made in Colchester, Chittenden County, VermontG, on 14 May 1851. She was to share equally with her four siblings the residue of the estate after allowing for their mother's lifetime interest in the homestead and the payment to her of an annuity of $50.6
