Children of Philo Sackett and Gratia "Grace" Perkins

1201. Philo Sackett, 1788–1803, of Hector, Schuyler County, N. Y., son of (541) Major Buel Sackett, was married, Jan. 6, 1814, to Grace Perkins, a lineal descendant of Joseph Jenks, colonist, who came from England to New England about the year 1652. Her line of descent from this worthy is as follows:
Joseph Jenks, worker in brass and iron, credited with having cut the die for the first coin issued in New England, was the father of Hon. Joseph Jenks, Jr., who for over a quarter of a century was one of the most prominent citizens of Rhode Island, serving from 1715 to 1721, as Lieutenant-Governor, and from 1727 to 1732, as Governor of the colony. Elizabeth Jenks, daughter of Governor Jenks, was married to Samuel Tefft, and their daughter, Susanna Tefft, was married to Peter Crandell, and their daughter Elizabeth Crandell married Nathaniel Perkins, and their son, Sands Perkins, born in 1757, married Mary Plumb, and they were the parents of Grace Perkins, wife of Philo Sackett.

Deaths
In Bennettsburg, N.Y., Sept. 10th, Mrs. Gratia Sackett aged 82 years.
She became a member of the Baptist church in early life, and was permitted to witness the conversion of her husband and a large family of children. A mother in Israel has gone to her reward.

The Examiner and Chronicle, New York, NY, 18 Nov 1869, p 5

Died, near Bennettsburg, at the residence of her son, Sept. 10th 1869, Gratia Sackett, aged 82 years 7 months and 24 days.
The subject of this notice, whose maiden name was Gratia Perkins, was born at South Kingston, R.I. At about the age of 14 years she was hopefully converted and united with the Baptist church at that place, where she lived until a short time previous to her marriage, in 1814, to Philo Sackett of Columbia Co., N.Y. In 1828 they removed to the town of Hector, now Schuyler Co., where she has since resided. She lived nearly 50 years with her companion when death separated them in 1863. It was a great satisfaction to the aged parents to see all their children pleasantly settled near them, and entertaining a like precious hope in the blessed Redeemer. But their labours are ended and they have entered their rest. Truly "the memory of the just is blessed."
