John Saffery, son of Nicholas Saffery and Elizabeth Sackett, was baptized at Great Mongeham Church, Great Mongeham, KentG, on 18 September 1631.1 He died in infancy and was buried at Great MongehamG on 6 October 1631.2

Mary Sackett, daughter of John Sackett and Elizabeth Turner, was baptized at Northbourne, KentG, on 15 March 1636.1 She died aged 36 and was buried at St Peter in Thanet, KentG, on 31 December 1672.4 She married at Great Mongeham, KentG, on 30 April 1663, Joseph Hurst, having obtained a licence from Canterbury, Kent, on 27 April. He was a bachelor, aged 25, and a mariner, she a spinster, aged 28. They were both of St Peter in Thanet. Her parents had died. The bondsman was Michael Allen of Canterbury, an innholder.2,3 Joseph and Mary were married by Rev John Sackett BD Oxf, MA Camb, the vicar of Great Mongeham. Rev John was a first cousin of Mary's grandfather William Sackett.
     Mary was named as a beneficiary in her uncle Robert's will made in Herne, KentG, on 14 November 1658.5 She was to receive a sum of £5 at age 21.6

  6. Mary was 22+ at the date of her uncle Robert's will. His assuming she was not yet 21 was probably a simple error.

John Sackett, son of John Sackett and Elizabeth Turner, was born, presumably in KentG, say 1640. He was named as a beneficiary in his uncle Robert's will made on 14 November 1658 Herne, KentG.1 He was to receive a sum of £3 "to be paid by my brother Jeffery Sackett which he owes me". The mention in this will is the only reference found to this John Sackett.
