Joel Sackett, son of Solomon Sackett and Mary ___, was born in about 17701,2 and baptized at the Congregational Society, North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 24 July 1774.3 He married at Congregational Society, North HavenG, on 6 December 1789, Lydia Todd, daughter of Hesekiah Todd and Lydia Frost.3,2 He died before 1804 (Lydia married, second, Enos Moss on 26 January 1804 at the Congregational Society, Cheshire, Connecticut.)3
     In 1790 Joel was living in North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG. The census record is of a household comprising only one man although Joel had married the previous year. There is no evidence of another Joel Sackett living in North Haven at this time.4
