FatherOzem Sacket (1736/37-1801)
MotherMercy Weller (c 1745-1812)
Jonathan Sacket, son of Ozem Sacket and Mercy Weller, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 10 September 1763.1,2,3 He died there aged 65 on 7 July 18293,4 and was buried at the Old Burying Ground, WestfieldG.5 He married at the First Church, WestfieldG, on 20 March 1788, Hannah/Joanna Sowl.3,6,7,8 Jonathan's wife is named as Hannah in the marriage record. In subsequent records, she is Joanna. They were probably the same, although the gap in the births of children between 1791 and 1799 might suggest two wives. The only later reference to Hannah is in the 1874 death record of the daughter Julana. This would support the assumption that Hannah and Joanna were the same, as would the naming of Joanna's father as Sowl in her death record. Joanna was born in MassachusettsG in about 1767.9 She was baptized as an adult at the Church of Christ, WestfieldG, on 30 April 1819.10 She died aged about 85 in WestfieldG on 28 October 185311 and was buried at the Old Burying Ground, WestfieldG.5
In 1790 Jonathan was living in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG. In his household were two men and three females.12
Jonathan was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made at WestfieldG on 26 June 1799. He was left various specified lands.
Jonathan was listed in the census in 1800, 1810, and 1820 as a householder in WestfieldG.13,14,15
Jonathan's widow Joanna was listed in the census in 1830 as a householder in WestfieldG.16
In 1850 Jonathan's widow Joanna, aged 82, was living in WestfieldG with her son Lester, 45, and daughter Julana, 42.17
