Roxana "Roxey" Sacket, daughter of Captain Daniel Sacket and Mehitable (Cadwell) Dewey, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 6 July 17731,2 and baptized at the Church of Christ, WestfieldG, on 11 July 1773.3 She died aged 18 in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 11 March 1792.4 She married at the First Church of Christ, PittsfieldG, on 5 April 1790, Capt William Francis Jr, son of Capt William Francis and Phebe Woodhouse.5,6 William was born in 1770.6 He died aged 69 in PittsfieldG on 21 August 1839.7,6
     William Francis married second in PittsfieldG on 9 April 1795, Lois Butler, by whom he had eight children between 1796 and 1813. The first of these, born in Pittsfield on 17 April 1796 was named Roxana, apparently after his first wife. William and Roxana's son Woodhouse also remembered his mother, naming his daughter Roxana Sackett Francis.8,9,10,6
