Lyman Sackett1
Lyman Sackett, whose parents have not been identified, was born in New York StateG about 1824. He died in Cherry Grove, Goodhue County, MinnesotaG, on 28 August 18732 and was buried at the Comstock Family Cemetery, Cherry GroveG.2 He married about 1848, Lucinda Kelsey.
Lyman Sackett served as a Union soldier in the 1st Regiment, Minnesota Heavy Artillery, in the American Civil War.3,4
In 1860 Lyman was living in Cherry Grove, Goodhue County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded in the census as Lyman Sackett, a farmer, aged 35, and born in New York State. Living with him were his wife Lucinda, 32, also born in New York State, and sons, Irwin, 11, and Maurice, aged one year.5
In 1870 he was living in Cherry Grove, Goodhue County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded as Lyman Sacket, a farmer, aged 50, and born in New York State. Living with him were his wife Lucinda, 43, and children, Edmund/Edward?, 11, Mary A, 7, and Sarah, aged three.6
