George Lane Plimpton

George Lane Plimpton, son of Henry Richardson Plimpton and Mary Eliza Sacket, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts^G, on 29 August 1858.¹ He died aged 78 in Brooklyn, New York City^G, on 7 May 1937.¹
     In 1860 George was living in Boston^G in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Geo L Plympton, aged one and born in Massachusetts.²
     In 1870 he was living in Boston^G in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded as George Plympton, aged ten.³
     George was named as a beneficiary in the will of his uncle Charles D Sackett made in Westfield^G on 3 January 1871. He was left a sum of $50 in his own right and, following the recent death of their mother who would have been a main beneficiary, he and his sister Lucy also jointly inherited some $5,000 held in trust by their father.⁴
