George Lane Plimpton, son of Henry Richardson Plimpton and Mary Eliza Sacket, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 29 August 1858.1 He died aged 78 in Brooklyn, New York CityG, on 7 May 1937.1
     In 1860 George was living in BostonG in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Geo L Plympton, aged one and born in Massachusetts.2
     In 1870 he was living in BostonG in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded as George Plympton, aged ten.3
     George was named as a beneficiary in the will of his uncle Charles D Sackett made in WestfieldG on 3 January 1871. He was left a sum of $50 in his own right and, following the recent death of their mother who would have been a main beneficiary, he and his sister Lucy also jointly inherited some $5,000 held in trust by their father.4
