Mark N Gleason, son of Edwin Gleason and Lucretia Sackett, was born in Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 10 February 1829.1,2 He died aged 43 on 8 August 1872.2 He married on 10 August 1851, Isme Carson Wilkins.2 Isme was born in Chautauqua County, New York StateG, in about 1828.1
     In 1850 Mark was living in Harmony, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Edwin and Lucretia, and was recorded in the census as Mark Gleason, a wheelwright, aged 21.3
     In 1860 he was living in HarmonyG in the household of his parents Edwin and Lucretia, and was recorded as Mark N Gleason, a wheelwright, aged 31. His wife Isme, 32, was living with him.4
     In 1865 he was living in HarmonyG and was recorded as Mark Gleason, a farmer, aged 37 and born in Chautauqua County. Living with him were his wife Isme, 37, his mother Lucretia, 62, his brother Edwin, 23, and the children, Mary, 7, and Edward, 5, of his late brother Henry. His unmarried uncle Enos Sackett, 65, was also in the household.5
     In 1870 he was living in HarmonyG and was recorded as Mark Gleason, a farmer, aged 41. Living with him were his wife Isme, 42, his mother Lucretia, 67, his brother Edwin, 29, and his late brother Henry's children, Mary, 12, and Edward, aged ten.6
