Glenn Woodward Sackett, son of George Henry Sackett and Ella Louisa Woodward, was born in Manton, Wexford County, MichiganG, on 9 November 1891.1,2 He died aged 66 in Grand Rapids, Kent County, MichiganG, on 14 June 19583 and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand RapidsG.4 He married in Grand RapidsG on 8 October 1921, Dorothy N Rose, daughter of David J Rose and Clara Lawrence.5 Dorothy was born in Dover, Dutchess County, New York StateG, in 1900. She died on 9 July 1968 and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Grand RapidsG.4
     In 1900 Glenn was living at Cedar Creek, Wexford County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents George and Ella, and was recorded in the census as Glenn Sackett, aged eight and born in Michigan.6
     In 1910 he was living at Cedar CreekG in the household of his mother Ella and grandmother Annie Woodward, and was recorded as Glen Sackett, aged 18.7
     Glenn completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 25 and was an accountant at Leitelt Iron Works. He was living at 127 Paddock Avenue, Grand Rapids, Kent County, MichiganG, with his mother Ella.8
     In 1920 he was living at Diamond Avenue, Grand RapidsG, and was recorded as Glenn Sackett, treasurer at an iron works, head of household, aged 27. His mother Ella, 50, and Ella's mother Ann Woodward, 80, were living with him.9
     At a meeting of the Davenport-McLachlan Alumni Association in 1926, "Glenn W. Sackett was the principal speaker. He read an article on Personal Efficiency and aptly interpreted his thoughts on the topic. His able presentation of the subject was much appreciated by his listeners."10
     In 1930 he was living at Croswell Avenue, East Grand Rapids, Kent CountyG, and was recorded as Glenn W Sackett, credit manager at an iron works, head of household, aged 38. Living with him were his wife Dorotha, 29, and their daughter Marion, aged seven.11
     In 1940 he was living at Croswell Avenue, East Grand RapidsG, and was recorded as Glenn W Sackett, secretary and treasurer at an iron works, head of household, aged 48. Living with him were his wife Dorothy, 40, and their daughter Joyce, aged 18.12
     Glenn completed a World War II draft registration card on 27 April 1942. He was aged 50 and was employed at the Leitelt Iron Works. He was living at 2725 Maplewood Drive, Grand RapidsG.13
     Glenn was listed in the Grand Rapids City Directory from 1913 when he was a stockkeeper at the Leitelt Iron Works. In 1914 he was a bookkeeper there, in 1917 the office manager, in 1920 the Treasurer. He was the Secretary and Treasurer by 1941 and by 1951 he was the President and Treasurer.14

Executive Dies In Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids — Funeral services will be Tuesday for Glenn W. Sackett, president of the Leitelt Iron Works, who died Saturday.
     Sackett, 67, started with the Grand Rapids firm in 1913 as a stockroom clerk and became president seven years ago.
