William Henry Sackett, son of Oscar Sackett and Eliza Miles Burns, was born in ConnecticutG on 9 September 1866.1 He died aged 77 in Glen Cove, Nassau County, New York StateG, on 30 December 1943 and was buried at Bayville Cemetery, Nassau CountyG.1 He married in Hoboken, Hudson County, New JerseyG, on 20 March 1893, Rena Olivia DeLoach, daughter of Oliver DeLoach and Mary ___.2 Rena was born in Savannah, Chatham County, GeorgiaG, on 12 March 1874. She died aged 74 in Bayville, Nassau CountyG, on 26 February 1949 and was buried at Bayville CemeteryG.1
In 1870 William was living in New York CityG in the household of his mother Eliza and stepfather William Purdy, and was recorded in the census as William Purdy, aged four and born in Connecticut.3
In 1910 William was living at Klondike Avenue, Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York StateG, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a school janitor, head of household, aged 41. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Rena, 35, and their children, Blanche, 15, Mildred, 12, Florence, 10, Julia, 6, and Edwin, aged three.4
