     In 1870 John was living in PatersonG in the household of his parents Oliver and Henrietta, and was recorded in the census as John Mcdonald, aged four months and born in New Jersey.2
     In 1900 he was living at Garrison Street, PatersonG, and was recorded as John M Macdonald, an insurance clerk, aged 30. He was living with his wife Lydia in his parents' household.3
