Ernest E Stoddard, son of Lyman Stoddard and Carrie M Sackett, was born in Hallstead, Susquehanna County, PennsylvaniaG, on 13 March 1901.1,2 He died aged 68 in October 1969.3 He married first in Kirkwood, Broome County, New York StateG, on 16 May 1924, Isabella Irene Lindeley, daughter of George Lindeley and Florence Wendall.4 Isabella was born in Binghamton, Broome County, New York StateG, in about 1903.5 They divorced. He married second in Terre Haute, Vigo County, IndianaG, on 17 May 1930, Icie Porter, daughter of Harden Porter and Anna Evelin.6 Icie was born in IllinoisG on 18 September 1906.5 He married third in IndianaG on 2 September 1936, Ruth F Jones, daughter of Daniel Jones and Phoebe Wise.7 Ruth was born on 19 February 1906.5
     In 1910 he was living at Chester Springs Soldiers Orphan School, West Pikeland, Chester County, PennsylvaniaG, and was recorded as Ernest Stoddard, aged ten. His brother Chauncey was also at the school.8
     In 1920 Ernest was living at Newport, Rhode IslandG, and was recorded in the census as Earnest E Stoddard, a yeoman, US Navy, at the Naval Training Station, aged 18 and born in Hallstead, Pennsylvania.9
