Chauncey L Stoddard, son of Lyman Stoddard and Carrie M Sackett, was born in PennsylvaniaG in November 1898. He died aged 75 at the Read Memorial Hospital, Binghamton, Broome County, New York StateG, on 25 April 1974 and was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hallstead, Susquehanna County, Rhode IslandG.1
     In 1900 Chauncey was living in Liberty, Susquehanna County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Lyman and Carrie, and was recorded in the census as Chancy Stoddard, aged one and born in Pennsylvania.2
     In 1910 he was living at Chester Springs Soldiers Orphan School, West Pikeland, Chester County, PennsylvaniaG, and was recorded as Chancy Stoddard, aged twelve. His brother Ernest was also at the school.3

Stoddard—Chauncey L. Stoddard, 76, Hancock, died at Read Memorial Hospital, Thursday. He is survived by a daughter Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Cole, Binghamton; one son Clarence Stoddard, Susquehanna; a sister Mrs. Pearl Ray, Hancock; one granddaughter and one grandson; several nieces and nephews. He was a retired State Highway Department Employee, Binghamton, he was a World War I veteran and a member of the VFW Hancock Post. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Henderson-Biedekapp Funeral Chapel, Hancock. The Rev. Harold K. Justesen pastor of the Hancock Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hallstead. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon and evening.
