Walter Syers, son of David Alexander Syers and Louisa Sackett, was born in WisconsinG in about 1851.1
     In 1860 Walter was living in Jamestown, Ottawa County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents Alexander and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Walter Sayers, aged nine and born in Wisconsin.2
     In 1870 he was living in Jamestown, Ottawa County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents Alexander and Louisa, and was recorded as Walter Syers, aged 18. He worked on the family farm.3
