Willard Syers, son of David Alexander Syers and Louisa Sackett, was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1842.1 He married first in about 1865, Hannah ___.1 Hannah was born in New York StateG in about 1848.1 He married second in Ionia County, MichiganG, on 21 April 1890, Eliza Miller, daughter of Jacob Miller.2 Eliza was born in MichiganG in about 1855.3
     In 1850 Willard was living in Clarksfield, Huron County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Alexander and Louisa, and was recorded in the census as Williard Syres, aged eight and born in Pennsylvania.4
     In 1860 he was living in Jamestown, Ottawa County, MichiganG, in the household of his parents Alexander and Louisa, and was recorded as Willard Sayers, a day laborer, aged 18.5
     In 1870 he was living in Jamestown, Ottawa County, MichiganG, and was recorded as Willard Syers, a blacksmith, aged 27. Living with him were his wife Hannah, 22, and their children, Charles, 4, and John, aged two. They were living next door to Willard's parents.6
