Benoni Gleason, son of Jacob Gleason and Ruth Sacket, was born in Pittsfield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, about 1760.1,2 He died aged 59 in Benson, Rutland County, VermontG, on 29 August 1819 and was buried at Old Benson CemeteryG.4,3 He married in PittsfieldG Lucy Hubbard, daughter of Captain James Hubbard and Martha Livermore.3 Lucy was born in PittsfieldG on 3 November 1766.3 She died aged 63 in BensonG on 6 February 1830 and was buried at Old Benson CemeteryG.3
Benoni served in the American Revolutionary War in Captain William Ford's company of Pittsfield. He was present at the surrender of British General Cornwallis at Yorktown in 1781.1
