Chester Ottman Sackett, son of Eugene Sackett and Mary E ___, was born in New York StateG on 6 April 1885.1 He married in about 1905, Jennie E ___.2 Jennie was born in New York StateG in about 1875.2
     In 1900 Chester was living in AftonG in the household of his parents Eugene and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Chester O Sackett, at school, aged 15 and born in New York.3
     In 1910 he was living at Orchard Avenue, AftonG, and was recorded as Chester O Sackett, a mail carrier, head of household, aged 25 and born in New York. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Jennie, 35, and their daughters, Alvretta, 3, and Zillah, aged one year eleven months. Also in the household was a boarder, Harry Carr, who was later to marry Chester's sister Florence.4
     Chester completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 33 and was a self-employed blacksmith, living with his wife Jennie in AftonG.1
     In 1920 he was living at Sand Street, AftonG, and was recorded as Chester Sackett, a laborer in a chemical plant, head of household, aged 34 and born in New York. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Jennie, 45, and their children, Alvretta, 13, Zillah, 11, and Leslie, aged nine.5
