Charles Blair Sackett, known as Blair, son of Charles Sackett and Elizabeth Guernsey, was born in Afton, Chenango County, New York StateG, on 12 January 1891. He died aged 76 in St Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, Montgomery County, New York StateG, on 17 March 19671,2 and was buried at Hagaman Mills Cemetery, Hagaman, Montgomery County, New York StateG.3 He married in Fulton, Oswego County, New York StateG, on 10 June 1913, Myrtle Kissinger, daughter of Paul Kissinger and Louise Hogedorn.4
     In 1900 Blair was living in AftonG in the household of his grandparents David and Susanna Guernsey, and was recorded in the census as Blair Sackett, a schoolboy, aged nine and born in New York.5
     In 1910 he was living in Maryland Town, Otsego County, New York StateG, in the household of his grandparents David and Susanna Guernsey, and was recorded as Blair Sackett, a farm laborer on his grandfather's farm, aged 19 and born in New York.6
     Blair completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was then aged 26, married with one child, and was a self-employed farmer at Broadalbin, Fulton County, New York StateG.7
     In 1920 he was living at Johnstown? Road, BroadalbinG, and was recorded as Blair T? Sackett, farmer, head of household, aged 29 and born in New York. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Myrtle, 29, and their children, Elizabeth, 6, and Dorothy, aged one. Also in the household were Myrtle's widowed mother Louise, 53, and brother Paul, 14.8
     In 1930 he was living at Amsterdam Perth Road, AmsterdamG, and was recorded as Blair Sackett, a self-employed general farmer, head of household, aged 39 and born in New York. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Myrtle, 39, a school teacher, and their children, Elizabeth, 16, Dolley, 11, Marion, 8, and Nelson, aged five. Also in the household was a ward, William Julius, 13, a child of Polish parents.9
