Alexander Pogue, son of Preston Patrick Pogue and Aner Sackett, was born in Bellbrook, Greene County, OhioG, on 15 May 1838.1 He died aged 84 in Fletcher, Miami County, OhioG, on 29 September 1922 and was buried at Fletcher CemeteryG.1 He married first Sarah Ann Curley.2 He married second Samantha Jane Culver.3 Samantha was born in OhioG in March 1851.1 She died aged 90 in Miami County, OhioG, on 5 July 1941 and was buried at Fletcher CemeteryG.1
In 1850 Alexander was living at Sugar Creek, Greene County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Preston and Aner, and was recorded in the census as Alex Pogue, aged twelve and born in Ohio.4
In 1870 Alexander was living at Brown, Miami CountyG, in the household of his parents Preston and Aner, and was recorded in the census as Alexander Pogue, a farmer, aged 32. Living with him were his second wife, Samantha, 19, and his children by his first marriage, Josephine, 9, Clara, 6, and Alice, aged three.5
