Charles Sackett, son of Richard Sackett and Elsie Eighmay, was born in New York StateG on 11 January 1838.1,2 He died aged 78 in Cedar Creek, Wexford County, MichiganG, on 23 January 19163 and was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Manton, Wexford County, MichiganG.4 He was unmarried.
     In 1850 Charles was living in Crete, Will County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Richard and Elsie, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, aged twelve and born in New York.5
     He was probably the Charles Sackett recorded in the 1870 census as a bartender in a hotel in Union, Isabella County, MichiganG.6
     In 1880 he was living in Westchester, Porter County, IndianaG, in the household of his parents Richard and Elsie, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a brickyard worker, single, aged 42.7
     In 1900 he was living in Cedar Creek, MichiganG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 62. He owned his home on a mortgage.8
     In 1910 he was living in Cedar CreekG and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a farmer, head of household, single, aged 70. He owned his home free of mortgage.9
