Archibald Fairfowl, cabinet maker, son of Archibald Fairfowl and Margaret Niven, was born in Ecclesmachan, Linlithgow, Midlothian, ScotlandG, on 19 March 17911,2 and baptized in Edinburgh, MidlothianG.1 He married in Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, on 19 June 1820, Grace Gordon Murray.3
In 1841 Archibald was living at 48 West Richmond Street, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded in the census as Archibald Fairfowl, a cabinet maker, aged 45+ and born in Scotland. Living with him were his children, Michell, 20+, Archibald, 10+, Grace, 15+, and Christian, 15+.4
In 1851 Archibald was living at 50 North Richmond Street, St Cuthberts, EdinburghG, and was recorded in the census as Archibald Fairfowl, cabinet maker, head of household, aged 60 and born in Ecclesmachan, Linlithgow. Living with him were his son Archibald, 23, and daughter
