James Sackett, son of James Sackett and Ann Argent Lee, was born in Dagenham, EssexG, in 1836 and baptized at St Peter & St Paul Church, DagenhamG, on 6 November 1836.1
     In 1841 James was living in Dagenham Village, EssexG, in the household of his parents James and Ann, and was recorded in the census as James Sackett, aged four and born in Essex.2
     In 1851 he was living at Bull Street, DagenhamG, in the household of his parents James and Ann, and was recorded as James Sackett, aged 14 and born in Dagenham.3
     James was a merchant seaman, serving on the Heart of Oak in 1856.4
