Sackett Tomlin

Sackett Tomlin, whose parents have not been identified, was born in Ash next Sandwich, KentG, in about 1811.1,2 He married Mary ___. She was born in MiddlesexG in about 1811.1
In 1851 Sackett was living at 17 Great Cumberland Street, Marylebone, LondonG, and was recorded in the census as Sackett Tomlin, a spice merchant, head of household, married, aged 38 and born in Kent. Living with him were his wife Mary, 39, and son Sackett Arthur, aged three. Also in the household were one male and three female servants.3
In 1871 he was living at 40 Sussex Gardens, Paddington, MaryleboneG, and was recorded as Sackett Tomlin, a landowner, head of household, married, aged 59 and born in Ash, Kent. Living with him was his wife Mary, aged 59. Also in the household were five domestic servants: cook, lady's maid, housemaid, kitchen maid, and a footman.4
