Edward William Charles Sackett, son of Vincent Edward Sackett and Elizabeth Perrett, was born in Kamptee, Bengal, IndiaG, on 3 October 18901 and baptized there on 12 October 1890.1 He died aged 77 in Hendon, LondonG, in 1968.2 He married at the Thoburn Methodist Episcopal Church, Calcutta, Bengal, IndiaG, on 1 January 1914, Sybil Dulcia Mabel Bracey, daughter of C W Bracey.3,4 Sybil was born on 1 May 1895 and died aged 86 in Ealing, LondonG, in 1981.5
     At the date of his marriage, Edward was a guard on the East Indian Railway.
     Edward served as a sergeant in the 1st Battalion, East Indian Railway Regiment. He was awarded the Volunteer Forces Long Service & Good Conduct Medal on 31 January 1934.6
