In 1900 Bessie was living in Tisdale, Cowley County, KansasG, in the household of her father John and stepmother Julia, and was recorded in the census as Bessie E Sackett, aged 14 and born in Kansas.3
In 1910 she was living at 1521 East Eleventh Avenue, Winfield, Cowley CountyG, in the household of her father John and stepmother [Julia] Cordelia, and was recorded as Bessie E Sackett, a laborer [sic], aged 23.4
