Charles Sackett, son of William Walker Sackett and Polly Ann Nash, was born in Panama, Harmony Township, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 19 October 1848.2 He died aged 74 in Fillmore County, New York StateG, on 1 January 1923 and was buried at the Chatfield Cemetery, Chatfield, Fillmore CountyG.2 He married first in MinnesotaG before 1873, Emma C. Roberts, daughter of Joseph H. Roberts and Maria Case.2 He married second in MinnesotaG on 25 December 1894, Maude Murphy Rucker.2
     In 1880 Charles was living in Chatfield, Fillmore County, MinnesotaG, and was recorded in the census as Charles Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 31 and born in New York. Living with him were his wife Emma, 29, and their children, Charles, 7, Hattie, 5, and Ray, aged two.3
