William Russell Sackett, son of Samuel Sackett and Bethia Pierpont, was born in North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 25 February 18031,2 and baptized there on 11 December 1803.3 He died aged 48 on 24 March 1851 and was buried at Holland Patent Cemetery, Trenton, Oneida County, New York StateG.4
     In 1850 William was living in Trenton, Oneida County, New York StateG, in the household of his brother John and family, and was recorded in the census as William Sacket, a laborer, aged 47 and born in Connecticut.5
