Halie Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of Filertus F "Lete" Sackett and Belle Ross, was born in MissouriG in November 1891.1 She married in Kansas City, Jackson County, MissouriG, on 26 November 1919, Lucius Lynne Cowles, son of Lucius Cowles and Elizabeth J ___.2 Lucius Lynne was born in St Mary's, KansasG, on 31 July 18941,3 and died aged 78 in Kansas CityG on 9 March 1973.4,5
In 1900 Halie was living at Mechanic Street, Butler, Bates County, MissouriG, in the household of her parents Philetus and Belle, and was recorded in the census as Mahala E Sackett, aged eight and born in Missouri.6
In 1910 she was living at Mechanic Street, Mount Pleasant, Bates County, MissouriG, in the household of her parents Filertus and Belle, and was recorded as Haley E Sackett, aged 17.7
Halie was listed from 1913 to 1919 in the Kansas City Directory, living in the family home at 3511 Genesee Street, Kansas City, Jackson County, MissouriG. She was a stenographer and, from 1915, worked for the Detmer Woolen Company.8
In 1920 she was living at Cleveland Avenue, Kansas CityG, and was recorded as Halie E Cowles, aged 27. She was living with her husband Lucius, 25, a newspaper printing machine operator, in the household of Lucius's widowed father, also Lucius.9
In 1930 she was living at Wyoming Street, Kansas CityG, in the household of her husband Lucius, 35, a printer, and was recorded as Hallie Cowles, aged 37. They owned their home. Living with them was their son Lynne, aged three.10
