Joseph Sackett, son of Eli Sackett and Eunetia Clinton, was born in Waterbury, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, on 4 January 1811.1 He died there aged 62 on 1 June 1873.1 He married on 9 June 1850, Charlotte H Cooper.1 Charlotte was born in about 1813.2 She died aged 85 in North Haven, New Haven CountyG, on 17 February 1899.1
     Joseph was listed in the 1840 census as a householder in North HavenG.3
     In 1850 Joseph was living in North Haven, New Haven County, ConnecticutG, and was recorded in the census as Joseph Sackett, a farmer, aged 39 and born in Connecticut.4
     In 1860 he was living in North HavenG and was recorded as Joseph Sackett, a farmer, aged 49. His wife Charlotte, 46, was living wiith him. Their farm was next door to that of Joseph's uncle John Sackett.5
