Ada Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of Arthur Edward Sackett and Elizabeth Gosling, was born in Stratford, West Ham, EssexG, on 25 May 18781,2 and baptized at St John, StratfordG, on 11 August 1878.3 She married at St Mary the Virgin, Walthamstow, EssexG, on 5 January 1901, William Francis Davis, son of William Davis.4,5 William was born in about 1879.
     In 1881 Ada was living at 92 High Street, West HamG, in the household of her parents Arthur and Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Ada E Sackett, aged two and born in Stratford.6
     In 1891 she was living at 92 High Street, Stratford, West HamG, in the household of her parents Arthur and Elizabeth, and was recorded as Ada E Sackett, a scholar, aged 12 and born in Stratford.7
     In 1901 she was living at 113 Winns Avenue (Beer House Off-Licence), Walthamstow, EssexG, in the household of her husband William, 21, a clerk in a Mineral Water Works and manager of an off-licence, and was recorded as Ada E Davis, aged 22 and born in Stratford.8
     In 1911 she was living at 162 Grove Green Road, Leytonstone, EssexG, in the household of Charlotte Housden, and was recorded as Ada Davis, school teacher, a boarder, aged 30 and born in Stratford. Living with her was her son Harry, aged ten. Her sister Emily Sackett was also living there as a servant.9
