John F Sackett, son of Rolin Sackett and Parmilia Chamberlain, was born in PennsylvaniaG in 1844.1 He died aged about 18 from disease contracted in the Army in Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, on 4 March 18631 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, East Meade Township, Crawford CountyG.2
     In 1850 John was living at Mead Township, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Rowland and Parmilia, and was recorded in the census as John Sackett, aged six, and born in Pennsylvania.3
     John served in the Civil War as a private soldier in the 111th Regiment of Pennsylvania Infantry, enlisting on 22 November 1861 and being discharged on medical grounds on 20 January 1863.2
