Ray Sackett, son of George Steven Sackett and Phoebe Levisa Potter, was born in Goodhue County, MinnesotaG, on 22 November 1896.2 He died in Owatonna, Steele County, MinnesotaG, on 31 October 19612 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Mantorville, Dodge County, MinnesotaG. He married in Kenyon, Goodhue CountyG, on 6 September 1919, Flora Ella McNeal. Flora was born in Fairdale, De Kalb County, IllinoisG, on 4 August 1899.3 She died at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Olmsted County, MinnesotaG, on 24 March 19554 and was buried at Riverside Cemetery, MantorvilleG.

    "Kasson - Raymond Sackett, 64, former fuel oil dealer here, died Tuesday at the home of his son, Donald, in Owatonna, after a three-week illness. Mr. Sackett was born Nov. 2, 1896, in Goodhue County. In 1919 he married the former Flora McNeal in Kasson. She preceded him in death in 1955. In addition to his son, Mr. Sackett is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Maynard Schuster of Fairwater, Wis. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Lloyd Pierce of Claremont, Mrs. Walter Bennerotte of West Concord, Mrs Roy Kramer of Kasson, and Mrs. Wilbur Hanners of Brownsdale. A brother, Edward Sackett of Dodge Center and five grand children also survive. Mr. Sackett was a longtime resident of Kasson and owned the Skelly Oil Co. franchise there for a number of years. In 1958 he moved to the home of his son in Owatonna. ... Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Mantorville. ..."

    "Mrs. R. Sackett Dies After Short Illness
    Mrs. Ray Sackett, Kasson and area resident most of her life, passed away Thursday evening, March 24, 1955 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester after a short illness. She was 55 years old. Funeral services were held at The Methodist church at 2:30 p.m. Monday with Rev. W. R. C. Baker officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Mantorville.
    The former Flora E. McNeal was born August 4, 1899, at Fairdale, Ill., and came to Kasson in 1905 with her parents. In 1919 she was married to Mr. Sackett at Kenyon. They lived in West Concord until 1922 when they moved to the Kasson area, where they had since resided. Mrs. Sackett is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Manard Schuster of Fairwater, Wis., a son, Donald of Owatonna; two brothers, Ellsworth and Elmer of Kasson and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob McNeal and two brothers, Irving and Earl. ..."
