Emma Sackett, daughter of Martha Sackett, was born in Margate, KentG, in 1870.1
In 1871 Emma was living at 70 King Street, Margate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Emma Sackett, a boarder, aged 11 months and born in Margate, in the household of Thomas Sackett. Emma may have been an illegitimate daughter of Thomas's daughter Martha, also in the household.2
In 1881 Emma was living at the Isle of Thanet Union Workhouse, Minster in Thanet, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Emma Sackett, a scholar, inmate, aged 11, and born in Margate. Also in the workhouse was William Sackett, aged nine, assumed to have been her brother.3
In 1901 she was living at 76 Nightingale Lane, Battersea, LondonG, in the household of Robert P Taylor, 67, and was recorded as Emma Sackett, a housemaid, aged 30.4
