Esther Sackett, daughter of Charles Sackett and Esther Haradine, was born in Kennington, Lambeth, SurreyG, on 21 August 18701 and baptized at St James Church, LambethG, on 6 June 1875.2 She married at St Mark's Church, Battersea, LondonG, on 24 December 1893, Alfred Jones, son of John William Jones.3,4 Alfred was born in about 1866.
     In 1881 Esther was living at 6 Pleasant Place, Lambeth, SurreyG, in the household of her father Charles, a general labourer, and was recorded in the census as Esther Sackett, a scholar, aged 11 and born in Kennington.5
