Homer S. Curtiss, a native of Warren, and formerly a Lieutenant in the 2d Artillery, died in Bridgeport on Thursday morning, March 18, of consumption. Last fall he made a visit to the West with the object of improving his health which has been poor for nearly three years. He returned without receiving any material benefit and has steadily declined. He was breveted captain for gallant conduct in the war and leaves behind a host of warm friends and acquaintances who mourn his early death.
