Alfred Day, farmer, son of John Day and Ann Cornelia Sackett, was born in OhioG on 28 July 1837.1,2,3 He died aged 73 in VermontG on 24 August 19104 and was buried at Oak Park Cemetery, Mondovi, Buffalo County, WisconsinG.5 He married in WisconsinG on 10 October 1869, Lida Augusta Holmes.1 Lida was born in OhioG in February 1846.3
In 1850 Alfred was living in Sheffield, Lorain County, OhioG, in the household of his parents John and Cornelia, and was recorded in the census as Alfred Day, aged twelve and born in Ohio.6
In 1870 he was living in Albany, Pepin County, WisconsinG, and was recorded as Alfred Day, a farmer, aged 33 and born in Ohio. Living with him was his wife Lida, aged 23.7
In 1880 he was living in Albany, Pepin County, WisconsinG, and was recorded as Alfred Day, a farmer, aged 44. Living with him were his wife Lida, 34, and their children, Ada, 9, John, 7, and Edith, aged two. There was also a female servant in the household.8
In 1900 he was living in Mondovi, Buffalo County, WisconsinG, and was recorded as Alfred Day, a farmer, head of household, aged 63. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Lida, 54, and their children, Gussie (Lida Augusta), 16, and Pearl (Lillie Pearl), aged 14.9
