Sarah Sackett, daughter of Colonel Orange Sackett and Amanda Minerva Sheldon, was born in New York StateG in December 1829.1,2 She married in about 1870, John W Howe. John was born in New York StateG in December 1832.2
     In 1850 Sarah was living in York, Livingston County, New York StateG, in the household of her parents Orange and (Amanda) Minerva, and was recorded in the census as Sarah Sacket, aged 23 and born in New York.3
     In 1860 she was living in York, Livingston CountyG, in the household of her parents Orange and Amanda, and was recorded as Sarah Sackett, aged 32.4
     In 1900 she was living in York, Livingston CountyG, in the household of her husband John Howe, 67, a merchant and owner of a general store, and was recorded as Sarah S Howe, aged 70. They owned their home free of mortgage. Sarah's unmarried sister Cornelia, 64, was living with them.5
