Thomas Alfred Sackett, a gas fitter of Faversham, Kent, son of Thomas Sackett and Harriet Maria (Simpson) Craycraft, was born in FavershamG on 31 December 18731,2,3 and baptized there on 6 March 1874.4 He died aged 71 at home at Hillcrest, The Cross, Eastry, KentG, on 29 March 19455,6,7 and was buried at FavershamG on 3 April 1945.5 He married at Ss Peter & Paul Church, Ospringe, KentG, on 10 June 1899, Eleanor Violet Bubb, daughter of George Bubb.8,9,10 Eleanor was born on 10 June 1879.5 She died aged 29 in Faversham, KentG, on 7 November 19085,11 and was buried there on 11 November 1908.5
In 1881 Thomas was living at 6 Linfield Cottages, Faversham, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Thomas A Sacket, a scholar aged seven and born in Faversham, son of Thomas Sacket.12
In 1891 he was living at 14 Kingsnorth Road, Faversham, KentG, and was recorded as Thomas A Sackett, a gas fitter's assistant (lock), aged 17 and born in Faversham, the son of Thomas Sackett.13
In 1911 he was living at 2 Richmond Road, RamsgateG, and was recorded as Thomas Alfred Sackett, a grocer's assistant, head of household, a widower, aged 37 and born in Faversham.14
In 1921 he was living at 83 Askew Crescent, Hammersmith, LondonG, and was recorded as Thomas Sackett, an unemployed sheet metal worker, a widower, aged 47.15
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Thomas was living at The Cross, High Street, Eastry, KentG, with his daughter Nellie. He was a shopkeeper selling confectionery and tobacco.16
Thomas left a will which was proved on 27 November 1945 by his granddaughter Marjorie Rose Eleanor Mott. His estate was valued at £2,095.17
